I allow 40 minutes for a new patient consultation and 20 minutes for follow-up consultation. If you are covered by private health insurance please bring those details along with you. Most private health insurance will cover you for fertility investigations, but very few will cover fertility treatment. When speaking to your health insurance company it is very important to stress that you are being referred for ‘fertility investigations’ so that they are clear you are not seeking funding for fertility treatment. Investigations can include cycle monitoring, hysteroscopy and laparoscopy. Appointments can normally be arranged within a week or two.

A referral letter from your GP is appreciated but not essential. If you have any medical notes, please bring these along with you to the consultation. If you have seen me before at Mayday University Hospital please could you let Anne, my private secretary, know this in advance of the appointment so that your notes can be requested and photocopied.
